Talent on Demand – moving forward, going strong

November 6th, 2009 by Charles Burk

Here in Talent on Demand, we have been working to make our services more robust and the bidding process much less cumbersome for our artists and customers alike. To that end we have added new services like the Revit markets and Solidworks modeling to our list of services we provide. In addition we have employed a more dynamic method in communicating the job opportunities to our artists.

Keeping you up to date:

November is seeing an increase in viable jobs, which are being awarded to our artists. Bidding on each job that comes through is key, and often a small job can turn into a larger job if the client is pleased with the work.

We have closed several large jobs in last month – projects that require multi-artist cooperation and are quite lucrative to our artists while providing exciting opportunities to work on very interesting projects.

These are exciting times for Talent on Demand!

Pricing and Talent on Demand

October 22nd, 2009 by Charles Burk

Greetings Squiddies!

TurboSquid has been offering our Talent on Demand services for about a year and a half now and we have had some amazing projects come through our door. Some have been very small projects with a budget of a few hundred dollars and some have been for major media companies budgets of tens of thousands. Each one has offered unique challenges that have been expertly tackled by our many talented artists.

If you are a client, you should know that TurboSquid has one of the largest pool of professional artists anywhere, and we are happy to be able to help our clients find the right artist for their project.

If you are an Artist, TurboSquid can help you to continue to build your professional portfolio and make some extra cash!

We hope that this will be the first of many blog posts that will help both clients looking to find talent for their projects and help our artist get the most from our Talent program.

We thought we would start with a very common question from both sides and that is pricing. Often people request jobs from Talent on Demand who have no concept of what 3D art pricing may run.

In the end, they have spent their time in a fruitless search for something when we cannot meet their budget requirements. While each job varies, since it is based on the bids of the various artists in the Talent on Demand Program – there is a certain consistency to pricing. In an attempt to save our valued customers time, I am posting some commonly requested items and roughly what they will cost based on previous experience

I hope this helps!

Airplane/Automobile ( exterior only) -  $200-$350 USD

Airplane/Automobile (interior and exterior)  $500-$700 USD

Airplane/Automobile (interior, exterior, and engine) – $1000 plus

House (exterior)  $200-300 USD

House (interior and exterior)  $500- 700USD

Human (non photo-real) $250-$400

Human (photo-real) $1000 plus

Cellphone  $150-300 USD

Chair  $100-250 USD

A good rule of thumb is that an artist will typically charge $20-$25 per hour with a minimum of 10 hours.

I hope this helps impart an idea of what custom 3D modeling can cost. If you want artists to bid on your job – it has to be appealing to them. A $50 budget is rarely appealing to the experienced professionals we have ready to work on your project.

Hope this is a bit of a help!

Artist Mike McCarthy loves ToD

October 12th, 2009 by Charles Burk

“We have been working with TurboSquid ToD for some time now. For us it’s a great way to bring new projects into the pipeline from large too small. I enjoy working with the team at ToD because they always have a good game plan and really know how to work with both content providers and clients. From my experience Tod has top notch project managers that stay on top of the details and allow us to do the work that needs to get done. I can say that whenever we start a production with the Turbosquid team I am assured that they have us covered.”

New ToD processes

September 3rd, 2009 by Charles Burk

Welcome to the Talent on Demand Blog system. We are currently looking for ways to make the Talent on Demand program more user-friendly. The Forum system was not functioning the way we envisioned it, so we are trying something new and different to make the communication process between ourselves and our artists more symbiotic.

This includes the direct marketing of Talent on Demand jobs to you! You don’t even have to go looking to see what we have available – it arrives in your email with instructions on how to bid.  How easy is that!

There are links on the left of the blog to take you directly to where to bid and an FAQ link among several other items of interest.

Please take a moment to look around

Thanks,

Talent on Demand
